Warm-up Echoes

Sing a simple 2-note siren or greeting (e.g., "Hel-lo"). Students echo it back. Try different pitches and silly sounds (tongue clicks, pops).

Introduce Echo Songs

Use What is an Echo? Slides. Explain that an echo is like a sound mirror. Show a picture of a canyon or mountain.

Group Echo Singing

Lead the class in an echo song (e.g., "Down by the Bay" or "No More Pie") using the Lyrics Sheet. Point to yourself when leading, and to the class when they echo.

Follow the Leader Game

Choose a student to be the "Mountain King/Queen." They make a sound or movement, and the whole class echoes it back like a canyon!

Reflective Listening

Listen to a recording of an actual mountain echo. Close eyes and try to count how many times the sound repeats.
